Escalator go up, escalator go down.
Escalator go fast, escalator go slow.
Don't you think the escalator at Ayala Terraces is a bit strange? In a hurry one day, I got on one without slowing down and, just after the first step, felt myself get a bit out of balance...the escalator accelerated. It's not something to cause alarm though. If you ask me why I'm posting this: just got a little curious. Hehe.
I researched and saw this video on energy saving escalators. I guess Ayala uses this type.
If you happen to drop by Ayala Center Cebu, please do confirm if what I've observed about this escalator is true. Thanks!
Oh, This post is quite interesting,I have a friend that works for Ayala constructions, I'll try asking him about it. That's alarming thou. Thanks Mustachio :D

Aha! So it wasn't just me! High five!
DeleteAyala does use energy-saving escalators same with their other branches. The first time I encountered these types were in Abreeza Mall in Davao which is Ayala owned. They really do speed up not like the ones in Ayala which are more subtle. It's a great approach though and hopefully it does save them a lot of energy.
ReplyDeleteI've only noticed these types on the right side of Terraces (if you're facing the mall), not sure if they also use the same inside. I'll go escalator joy riding next time haha
