Wisdom from the Road #14

On magic words
Not abracadabra.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Those are magic words.

Those words will always be appreciated. (Please, of course, is also included.)

When a jeepney conductor handed me my change, he said "you're welcome" when I said my thanks. When I got off that same jeep, he again answered "you're welcome" to my "thank you." Not too many people answer back with a "you're welcome" and that definitely made my day.

  1. I didn't know you're welcome can make someone feel good. I shall try that and see. I usually just smile or nod when being thanked. Nice insight!

    1. Hi Arlet! A smile would suffice, too :) I got so used to receiving silence or blank stares when I say thank you that the jeepney conductor answering me twice in a jolly manner made my day hehehe. Thanks for dropping by this little blog :)

  2. Hey! You rode a jeepney? ;) hehehe. Kidding aside, this post reminds me that I must be more generous with my thank you's, whether riding a cab or a jeepney.
